This was one of the first pieces created for our new Collection entitled "Philosophy & Philosophers". The idea was one of simplicity. How can we express and capture the elegance of something so fundamental as "A squared plus B squared equals C squared" ?
Using three different types of material (round bar, 90 degree angle, and three sided channel) to represent the necessary components, mathematical precision was used (as the Greek would have wanted) in the construction. A one foot square, a two foot square, and a three foot square were all assembled to give a rough yet delicate representation of the most famous idea the man from Samos gifted the earth!
This heavy piece weighs in at 296 pounds, and has a height over 80 inches. Choosing bright colors that are sure to stand out regardless of placement, let the math nerd in you speak!
